Transitioning from Mac to Windows 7. Shortkey for volume down, etc.

Is there some shortkey for controlling the volume and the screen brightness (if it's not a laptop and such keys are not available on the keyboard)?

Also, what would be the Windows equivalent to 'All Windows', 'Dashboard', 'Application Widows' and 'Show Desktop'?

Sometimes I like to put multiple windows of a browser in different spaces so I can better navigate around them; how can you do this on Windows 7?

It's not cool that Windows lack the 'All Windows', 'Dashboard', 'Application Widows' functions... what do you do instead?

Show Desktp on the lower right corner. That will minimize and maximize everything. The windows key opens the start key. Are you using a Mac with windows on it?

I run OS X 10.7 Lion on my desktop so I know what you are talking about. I use MyHack 2 as my bootloader.

No I am not using a Mac with windows on it. I heard that to run Windows 7 fast, you have to use a Windows Laptop that is about 800 dollars. Is that true?

My keyboard has a ring that controls volume, so that does it for me. The monitor has a button for brightness, but I set it once and forget about it. This is a desktop, so I can always reach the monitor with my hand, to me this is the same as tapping a key on the keyboard. Sorry if this bit is not helpful

Right end of the taskbar is exactly the "Show Desktop". In addition there are two icons on the Quick Launch bar, on "Show Desktop" and another "Switch between Windows". Clicking on it you'd get a 3D view of all open windows, you can toggle and choose the one you want. I'm sure there is a keyboard shortcut for this as well, but personally I never bothered to remember them. The taskbar itself tells you everything about open windows anyway.

Don't know what the Dashboard is, but by the sound of it, it's got to be similar to the Task Manager - that gives you all information about running tasks and resources used. Right-click on the taskbar -> Start Task Manager.

This is not an OS question per se, but ... If you use Firefox, you can open new pages in new windows instead of new tabs, there is always a "New Window" button on the toolbar. Pretty sure IE can do the same. Never used any other browser, but I think they can do that as well. Once your pages are in separate Windows, you can arrange them around the desktop as you wish.

No he was just a computer fixer. He said that I should just run BootCamp on my MBP, it runs really fast, but if I bought a PC I would have to buy a real high end like 800 dollars to run it fast. Which I thought was kind of hard to believe.
