How do i get the OS to show both date and time on the taskbar?
I see that the time is displayed but in spite of setting date it does not show on the taskbar, what am I not doing or doing wrong?
Thanks for responding

If you would like the date in the System Tray along with the time, right-click on the Taskbar (ensure that Lock the Taskbar is deselected) then drag the top edge of the Taskbar upward until it snaps to twice its normal height. The clock displays three lines rather than one, showing the current time, the day of the week, and the current date.
Hello MSwhip,
In addition, this will help show you another way to have it displayed on the taskbar.
Date Format for Taskbar System Tray - Show Full Day and Month Names
Hope this helps,

Both your contributions have now solved my issue. Thank you very much
Came across this post on Friday and applied the settings on the Short Date, ie, Friday, 14 Oct, 2011. I like the short day better so yesterday I modified the short date to read, Sat, 15Oct 2011. This morning when I booted up I noticed that only the Time was displayed. I reentered the info in the Short date ie, Sun 16 Oct 2011 hit apply and OK but the entry did not save. Showed only the Time again. If I enter the full day name Sunday it will display on the Taskbar. For some reason if I enter the short day name (Sun) and click Apply, OK the settings are not being saved.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks
Brink, What I entered yesterday was ddd dd MMMM yyyy. It was fine all day yesterday. When I reentered this morning I used ddd, dd MMMM, yyyy and clicked Apply and the only that showed was the Time.
What happened is that the allowable space on the taskbar for the date ran out of room using ddd, dd MMMM, yyyy since it was to long to fit in that space, and defaulted to only showing the time without a date.
The one below worked fine for me. You might see how it works for you.
ddd, dd MMM, yyyy
