Folder Display

Does anyone know how to change the ridiculous half open folder displays on my Photos folder?

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...brarysucks.jpg

I'd like it to be the way it was in XP so that the view is flat not half open and it has four minature photos within the folder so I can get a better preview and idea as to what is within the folder? These half open ones are impossible to use I just don't see their purpose other than to annoy me.

Instead of going to the photos folder or dreadful library system microsoft have employed I now have to use my photo viewer program.

Thanks for your help,

John

I don't think that you can ...

I don't think you can change that behaviour to the way XP did it.

You can eliminate the "preview mode" by changing the Folder icon to something else (e.g. an icon you created yourself).
You may have to create your own icons (obviously they would be static).

Someone else may know a way to do it.

Try this method:

First, Disable Thumbnail Preview + then take a pic of the cover using Snipping Tool. Save it as a .png image. Convert the .png to an icon at http://www.convertico.com/. Save the icon to the Desktop or any real location where it will stay for a long time without being disturbed. Right-click on the desired folder and select Properties. Go to the Customize tab, click on the "Change Icon" button, browse to the location where the icon is saved, and click: Apply and then OK.

I think you may find that IcoFx is no longer free. Try Greenfish instead Greenfish Software
