    Bought and waiting


    Good Day,
    I have purchased the windows seven upgrade disk and was instructed to wait until the release before the disk would be sent, and... I was also told that no money would be removed from my account until the upgrade disk was on it's way, which did not seem to hold true being the money has been removed from my account, do you have any information pertaining to there policy on just how this is all going to take place, like I said, I had read the instruction on their web page when I ordered the disk, and just the opposite has occured as far as the removal of funds. I do have prof of purchase.

    A lot depends on where you purchased the OS from, I've pre-ordered mine from Tesco's and yes they've taken the money from my account but I'm not worried as I will receive the disc on October 22nd, or thereabouts, as that is the day Windows 7 goes on sale.

    I have no worries with regards my transaction with Tesco as I've used them for a number of years to supply me with my grocery shopping each week plus I've ordered before now from their Tesco Direct store and never had any problems.

    I also have all the paper work for the transaction.

    I ordered mine from Amazon, and no money has been taken from my account. They clearly state that no money will be deducted until the disk ships...

    I guess it could be a problem, if you were led to believe that funds wouldn't be transfered untill goods were ready for delivery and you didn't have sufficient funds at time of order, you could be hit with fees for insufficient funds.

    My order was threw TigerDirect, and I to have prof of purchase. I am glad to hear that this is probably the norm when dealing with a second party such as TigerDirect and that after recieving the funds TigerDirect will then order it from Microsoft, which I guess makes sence. Anyway, thank you for your input.

    This why I chose to buy from the devil himself (MS), I've been burned once before by another on-line retailer for something like this.

    Well Sammy, I haven't been burnt yet but there is always a first time. I have dealt with TigerDirect for several years now without any issues to speak of, and so far they have been pretty reliable up to this point. I just wanted to get a few thoughts on my concerns, thanks for the input.

    You should be OK I've used them for pre-orders several times and never had any problems, in fact I've got 3 items on pre-order at the moment. They even send you an email if the date they have given for delivery is changed for any reason so you always know what's happening with them.
