You simply must not have multiple antivirus programs installed and running at the same time. Last time, I did not recall you say that you installed Mcafee as well? Are you saying you now have Avast, Mcafee and Malwarebytes installed and running at your computer right now plus you also have Spybot? That is a recipe for disaster. I suggest you must only have one of these programs installed. Not sure if Spybot is OK with any of them but Avast, Mcafee and Malwarebytes must not linger there at the same time. You must have only one of them installed and running at your computer. A very slow computer is a very common symptom of antivirus program conflict.

KK, so I have removed Mcafee but i still have the same slow start up problem

If you updated Malwarebytes, ran a full scan, and no malware was found, I'd suggest performing a Clean Boot to isolate any problems. This Microsoft article explains how to do that. Make sure to take your time and follow the steps exactly.

Could you tell me how to update malware bytes?

Ok, so i fully updated malwarebytes and did a full scan on my laptop and no luck. Infection free~ so ill try to follow the link you gave me and see how it goes :)

For some reason Aero theme is now working, Audio service it running again, Internet no longer freezing.
That takes care of all those problems, just gotta solve the slow start up problem now...
Going to try the clean boot up and see how it goes, hopefully it fixes everything :)

Other than my slow starting up problem, my laptop seems to be switching off aero theme. I've tried changing it but its greyed out. I've also try troubleshooting it, but it says the theme couldn't be applied. Sometimes is switches itself back on though? So anyone know the solution to this?

Ok, after constant problems that kept on arising. I just decided to system restore my laptop to a couple of weeks back. Everything was fine for about a day, then I notice all the problems came back when I updated window 7? I think this is the problem. After an windows update my laptop began to start up slow again, freeze on certain sites, revert to windows basic theme, etc.. So I believe this is the problem, has this happened to anyone else?? Help would be appreciated! How can I not install an update for my laptop?

How many updates did you try to install? I usually do updates in small groups (maybe 3 - 5 at a time.) After installing those updates I'll run my machine for a while to make sure it's working correctly. If it is, I'll install the next 3 - 5. If a problem occurs I'll know exactly which group of updates to uninstall. Uninstall all of the updates in that group, reboot, and install just one at a time. They'll either all install properly or you'll know which specific update is the problem. Ignore that update for the time being and continuing installing the rest 3 - 5 at a time. When all updates are installed and machine is working right, try installing the problem update. If it still won't install right you'll probably need to Google that update to see if others have had the same problem.

If you know you don't need a particular update, you can hide it so it doesn't keep asking you to install it.
