Possible to configure 7 to auto-wipe files?

    There is actually an encryption feature in Windows 7. You can select it for individual files/folders. Simply open the file properties dialog, click on the Advanced Attributes button.

    Check the 'Encrypt contents to secure data' option.

    Possible to configure 7 to auto-wipe files?-encrypt.jpg

    After pressing OK, make sure you apply the setting to all files and subfolders. Windows will then show you options to save the encryption key.

    I don't know if this will wipe deleted files.

    I would add to that, beginning with Truecrypt 6.0 I believe, the design was changed to add support for an embedded backup copy of the header. Just be aware of the issues and advice mentioned at TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source Disk Encryption - Documentation - How To Back Up Securely
