Win 7 libraries issue: Deleted file remains

Hi there, I have a weird problem with windows 7 libraries, and can not figure out what is the cause, and what to do.

Many times when I delete a file in libraries, it won't immediately disappear like what usually happens when I delete files in regular folders, unless I refresh the window.

For example, I select a file in Documents library then delete it, and then confirm.
but after that, the file doesn't disappear. file icon remains there, and I can still view thumbs or meta data in the details pane.
the file can't be open anymore. If I double click the file, and it will say "Object not exist". If I refresh the window here, the file will finally disappear.

I think the file was actually deleted. this "File icon remains after being delete" problem is just caused by my win7's libraries function, but I can't find out what exactly cause it.

This problem may not be too serious, but can cause inconvenience-- Like if I delete some files by mistake, I may not even notice at all.

If someone has any clue about this issue, plz lend me a hand, thank you.:)

I also experienced this problem of not refreshing the My Documents Folder (through right pane of start menu) after deleting a file. I tried suggestions like removing Libraries and editing the register. Nothing worked. So I thought: if I can't solve it, work around it...


Instead, I manually navigated to the My Documents folder through C:\Users\... Then, I made sure that the My Documents folder, that is in C:\Users\..., is pinned to the start menu. As a result, the shortcuts to the folders are now on the top left side of the start menu, and they will stay there. You can do the same for My Music, My Pictures and My Videos. Just make sure of two things:

1) Remove the 'old' and 'troublesome' links at the right side of the start menu (right-click on windows icon, Properties),

2) Don't show too many recent programs into the lower left part of the start menu to prevent the start menu from being too big.
