Software (WinXP) raid1 on Windows 7?

    Hi,

it's possible to use raid1 builded on Windows XP SP2 32-bit (SW raid1 manually enabled in Windows XP by re-writed this files: dmadmin.exe, dmboot.sys, dmconfig.dll) in Windows 7 RTM 64-bit? So if Win7 can support raid1 natively like Windows Server 2003 :)
I mean use without rebuilding raid1 array or something like that. Simply install Win7 and start to using raid1 which has been created in WinXP. It's possible? Thanks alot for any information about this problem.

I have no direct experience with Windows software RAID, but I would think that any Windows native filesystem configuration supported in XP would also be supported in Win 7. However, although I do see striped and spanned volumes, I do not see an option for creating mirrors, though they are mentioned in the disk maintenance help. I'm using Home Premium though, maybe in Pro and Ultimate.

Ok... I will try Ultimate version.

EDITED: So Ultimate version support raid1 (Mirror) - told me friend - he test it on vmware.
EDITED2: I tested too and I have no problem with SW raid1 created in WinXP Pro. Everything seems to be ok in Win7.
