    ZIP File Extraction


    Does Win 7 Home Premium have a built-in zip file extractor ?

    yes - simply open the zip in windows explorer.

    it's not very good at opening some password protected zips though...

    you can even make zips using the right-click menu (send to >> compressed folder)

    There is also a free program, 7 Zip, which can open .zip, .rar, and many other files, even with a password.

    7-zip is also my "weapon of choice" since it handles almost every archive format you might come across and can be integrated into the context menu:)

    I use another one....PeaZip - Free file and archive manager - 7Z RAR TAR ZIP...
