Gone back to Vista x64 sp1

After having a few issues with games and software most of all, Crysis and Farcry via steam and macdrive, deamon tools etc have decided to go back to vista sp1 until w7 matures. Hopefully rc0 will be released soon enough.

w7 is a great os easily my favorite and will def buy it when released just doesn't support everything I use yet....

    Hello Boomstick777,

Did you send feedback to MS? This is the time that they will listen to you. That is one of the reasons I am on Seven. So I can tell them what I like and dislike, what I want and don't care about. This is when they want to know, not after the final release.

I don't think rc0 or a newer version would fix daemon tools and steam problems.

It's known that steam apps are buggy in W7, but I don't think it's M$'s responsibility to that, I guess steam will have to make updates and/or hardware manufacturers like graphics , would need to build new graphics card drivers, which is still early to do cause it's beta...

Newer versions will be needed by other third-party software makers like Daemon Tools for instance... If there's a new architecture or device handling on the new OS, they should adopt to that new OS with new versions of their apps, and not M$ ...

Totally agree, just like when vista was released the problem wasn't vista but that many third party apps just didn't support it and took there time updating there software to run on vista. With the popularity of windows 7 hopefully well see apps being supported quicker than with vista. Were still in beta though so cant expect everything to work lol

At least you got it installed. I am trying to run dual boot with Vista, but Vista won't let me shrink the drive enough

Acronis Disc Director Suite is the best partition tool i've ever used. Just set it to manual when you run it and it'll be alot easier to use.
