New features strictly new to Windows 7

    Superfetch. WinSxS. DISM and ImageX. The BCD store. Better firewall. Better task scheduler. PowerShell. Backup and Restore. Previous versions. The sidebar. Hotstart/Mobility Center. Action Center. Just about every OS component improved and updated.

    And that's just what I can come up with off the top of my head right now...

    I think Britton30's suggestion of this Wikipedia article is the closest to what you were looking for: Features new to Windows 7 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. But the other members are right, in that it will unfortunately take some legwork to find the consummate article that lists all the features new to Win 7 that were not present (in some form) in prior versions.

    Pedantically, XP had an extremely rudimentary form of Side by Side Versioning (WinSxS) in some of the later editions (I forget exactly which Service Pack level - possibly SP2??). But anyway, technically not new, but used properly for the first time in Vista, so I think that still counts. Nice post :)
