Adding to an existing folder in 'my favorites' windows 7

I am running windows 7 and IE9 on a new computer and I have a problem adding to "my favorites'
I want to add a new website to an existing folder in 'my favorites', so I click 'add to favorites' then I choose the folder from the drop down menu and click 'add'.
When I check the folder in ' my favorites'he website is missing. If I add it to just 'my favorites' [no drop-down] then it appears at the foot of the listings.
    Could someone please help ?
    tnx..Ron

Hi Ron and Welcome to Seven Forums. After adding to your folder did you right click on any entry then click Sort by Name? Perhaps it was lost. Also check the name that shows after you click Add To Favorites.

    Favorites problem

Thanks for the reply ! I just tried to add this forum page to a Microsoft folder in my Favorites, the drop down said "microsoft" and I clicked 'add', then it goes away so I look in 'microsoft' folder and it's not there !

Hello Ron, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I get this what seems like a refresh issue sometimes as well. When it does this, open a new tab in the same IE9 window, then see if it's listed under that folder in Favorites afterwards.

Does it appear in that subfolder in your C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites folder?

Thanks Brink for assisting . I tried checking in a new open browser and it isn't there. It is not in my c:\user file either.
