Hello Mike,

You may have a file in your startup list that is responsible for this. When it is running at startup, it appears to not have a default program associated to the file and giving you this "Open with" window. In your screenshot it says "File: 7", so you might look for anything related to that and disable it using METHOD THREE (msconfig) in the tutorial below to test if it stops afterwards.

If not, then you can enable the item again and test another one.

Hope this helps,

Mike,

From the looks of that, you might see if reinstalling a new copy of your wireless network adapter's driver may be able to help.

safe to assume its impossible to remove the "open" and the "merge" entries from the context menu? I figure if i want to open or merge them i would simply double click. Clutter and redundency in this vein dont suit me :P

Pinning "New" and "Open" Word document to start menu
Using Word 2007, I am unable to pin the "New" and "Open" Word Document to the Start Menu. I was able to do this in XP and Vista. I go to "All Programs" and can load Word but cannot find the options new/open. In Word I go to "Word Options" and it is not listed there either. Thanks.
