Multitasking Issues I installed 2 windows updates last night, one optional one important. Now it seems when I have mIRC 6.35 with NoNameScript 4.22 open and try to click firefox in my taskbar, Firefox will no longer pop up. I have to click the NNScript icon in the taskbar to minimize to be able to switch to Firefox. Is any one else having similar problems since the last updates? KB2607576 and KB2603229 are the updates I am referring to. | My System Specs |

A Jump List that contains more than 999 items is not displayed in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
That one has to do with a jumplist issue. So my inclination would be to think it's more likely the cause. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard PS/2 Mouse PS/2 Wheel Mouse Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :

In addition to restore points I find it good to back up Registry with ERUNT
and make an image of my system partition at least, to an external drive. You can find free imaging programs here: Free Hard Disk Backup and Restore, Hard Disk Image and Cloning Utilities (thefreecountry.com) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard PS/2 Mouse PS/2 Wheel Mouse Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :

Well I uninstalled the update through programs and features. No luck there. I have a system restore that I can try, but I generally dont like using them, only as a last resort.
EDIT: Tried a system restore, but no luck. Thank for the information but none of that actually fixes the problem at hand. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM CPU Intel Core i7 860 Motherboard MSI P55-GD64 Memory 2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws Graphics Card Sapphire Raedon HD 4890 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2208 WFP Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg Mouse Razer Copperhead PSU Corsair HX520 Case Thermaltake Mozart TX Hard Drives 2x80 GB Intel X25M G2 SSDs RAID0

If you keep the system partition lean you can restore from external USB 2.0 in about an hour. Much faster if you have USB 3.0 or ESATA. If you only rely on restore points there's not much room to maneuver. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard PS/2 Mouse PS/2 Wheel Mouse Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :

Again preaching about back ups does nothing to resolve the issue. It is good information, but it is a precaution, not a solution in this case.
To further up date, I tried to uninstall both the updates. No joy. I remembered I had installed a few apps in the past few days. I only needed them for a single usage as I had used a sound recorder app on my phone that decided to record in raw PCM format rather then WAV. I tried a few different apps to convert to WAV so it could be posted for review. I removed those thinking it was possible that one of them some how managed to cause system conflicts. There must be some way to resolve this problem. I may do a format and secure erase on my SSDs(RAID setup, so no TRIM) and go for a clean install but this is my preferred last resort. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM CPU Intel Core i7 860 Motherboard MSI P55-GD64 Memory 2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws Graphics Card Sapphire Raedon HD 4890 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2208 WFP Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg Mouse Razer Copperhead PSU Corsair HX520 Case Thermaltake Mozart TX Hard Drives 2x80 GB Intel X25M G2 SSDs RAID0

Making changes to your system with no backup invites the predicament where there is no solution other than to wipe and start over. That's the point. I can't undo what you've done from here. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard PS/2 Mouse PS/2 Wheel Mouse Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :

Have a go at uninstalling NoNameScript 4.22 ? Also I would keep watching those 2 update numbers on Microsoft site. If there's a side effect on many systems they might issue a fix for the fix. It's happened before. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Media Center OS Windows 7 32 bit CPU AMD 5200+ dual core Memory 2 GB Graphics Card NVidia GeForce 6150SE 128 MB Monitor(s) Displays CRT Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard PS/2 Mouse PS/2 Wheel Mouse Hard Drives 500 GB Sata internal :
