    HDD breaking up, Can I legally install oem win 7 on new HDD


    I am getting warnings of fatal errors on my HDD which contains Win 7 oem. Can I legally install the same Win 7 oem on a new replacement HDD which will be installed in the same desktop computer.

    Run the HD maker's diagnostics/repair CD extended scan which can prolong the HD life: HD Diagnostic

    Follow this with Disk Check.

    If this is factory OEM preinstalled at factory you can make or order Recovery Disks to install to new HD if necessary.

    If retail OEM just boot the DVD follow these steps to get a perfect Reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

Is there any LEGAL ways, via LEGAL software, to import/rip my own DVD's for home and personal use? Any help appreciated!
My PSU has died and it killed my MB and my CPU at the same time. I need to build a new PC. I cannot find where my Win 7 discs are. Fortunately I have noted my product key separately so I still have it. Is there any place I can legally download Win 7 from and use it with my legit product key?
For example, I want to use my XPM cd-key not on Windows XPM, but VirtualBox XPM. Just wondering...
