How do I disable the "This publisher could not be verified." warning?!

I'm trying to play Runescape (nerd much?) and I keep getting the stupid Java "This publisher could not be verified." warning. I don't believe i have gpedit.msc however I do have regedit.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I don't want to preach, but before you disable warnings of this kind you may wish to consider you have a possible virus infection.

I'd be inclined to run a full virus scan in Safe Mode, for which Malwarebytes is highly recommended.

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a free download that removes viruses and malware from your computer

I tried to boot into safe mode, and it got stuck on .../.../AtiPcie.sys so I let it be, figuring it would be okay. A little after that, the laptop shut down and started up as usual.

Have you checked in Device Manager to see if there is a problem with your graphics drivers?

Also, it probably won't hurt to run the system file checker as this tutorial explains:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I'm doing the CMD thing now. I just used Malwarebytes on the normal, unsafe mode. It found 6 errors (even a keylogger, yikes!) so I had it remove them. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared. I've never typed in credit card info or a Facebook password on my laptop, so hopefully it doesn't have any real important stuff. I'll post back when its done- 28% now.
