    Window Appearance Setting Change

I have selected the option set computer for best appearance in the performance tab. However, after a reboot or after 10 or 15 minutes 1 feature that is show window contents while dragging gets disabled and it outlines. Due to which I have to keep changing the settings again and again. Does someone have a fix for this ?

    Hello livingvirtual,

You might see if setting it using one or all of the other options in the tutorial below may work for you instead.

Show Window Contents or Outline While Dragging

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Since you have a HP (OEM) computer, check to see if you may have anything like the Dell Media Experience program that came preinstalled on your computer. There was a glitch in this program that disables the show contents while dragging after each reboot. You might have a similar program doing the same.

No I don't have any such program installed. As I had formatted by PC just a week ago and the additional software that came with it is in another disc so there no possibility of any glitch.

I did some more digging in the registry for any other DragFullWindows entries found, and created the REG file below to set them to default values as well for you. If you like, you could download and merge the REG file below and restart the computer to see if this may help.

If this just started happening recently, then you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this started to hopefully undo and fix it.

If not, then you might see if running the sfc /scannow command may be able to help.
