we really need some more info to help you.

what were you doing when you broke it? partitioning?

is it the only drive in your machine?

    okay

    eeepc 1000h
    2gb ram
    should be 120gb hdd

everything has been running fine for a couple of months
i've been trying to make network discovery work for my homegroup (without success)
today i downloaded office 2010 beta, and when i opened up the zip file for install it said it couldnt open path. while trying to figure out why i discovered it wont open drive c. keeps telling me im not authorised. i am an administrator user account.

ive tried everything i can think of. run - chkdsk doesnt open. or chkdsk r
will not format drive, will not defrag or open properties.

will not allow me to copy from drive (files, pics or software)
did allow me to upload files to skydrive

i am still using it so it is operating, it just wont give me access to the drive itself.

    very strange

Yep there is a great tutorial on profiles in the tutorial section. that is also the reason you cant access C:. When you delete stuff you dont know about you run the risk of making your computer into a bookend. Be careful

that still doesnt offer a fix though, it tells me about profiles, which is not the problem
