    hi all

i have just installed windows 7 onto this computer and every time i start up and get to desktop everything stops working, no mouse movement, no keyboard input, screen not refreshing or moving. i have run diagnostics on all the hardware nothing wrong there. however it works fine no hanging in safe mode. any help would be much appreciated specifications are:

3.4ghz intel dual core celeron d
    nivida gefore 7100 gs
    2gb kingston dual channel ram
    foxconn rc4107ma motherboard

That points to a driver. Did you keep the drivers given by the Win7 installer and quickly updated via optional Windows Updates, then only import those missing in Device Manager?

Users can get in trouble with Win7 if they used XPired methods to change out all drivers. Win7 is the authority on its own drivers until performance points to problems with one.

If this behavior started after install, See if you have Restore Points to go back to the point where it started then install drivers one-by-one with time to check performance. Do the same with other Updates, in small groups if necessary to rule them out.

it started directly after install before doing any updates or anything but i not sure what driver it is or service but i dont know what services can be disabled to see if that is it as it works fine in safe mode but thank you for some more things to try will give them a go and update as i find out if it works

Work through these troubleshooting steps which can be done in Safe Mode to see if clues can be developed.

I'd consider a Clean Reinstall following these steps to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

Before reinstalling check for newer BIOS update, Clear CMOS - Reset BIOS to Optimal Defaults, set SATA controller in BIOS to AHCI.
