Taskbar Functionality (CTRL+Click to multi-select/manipulate windows)

    Hi,

I'm six hours into Windows 7 on my new Sony Vaio, which is proving... interesting.

One of the taskbar features I used with XP many times every day -- the capacity to select multiple windows in the taskbar by holding down the Control key -- is missing, and I cannot find an equivalent methodology. The Win-Key+Arrow-Keys work for the vertical splitting of two programs. But I don't necessarily want to arrange vertically, or arrange at all (e.g. I may want to select and close three of my eight open windows, or arrange them horizontally). I don't work with "groups" of windows.

I've searched everywhere and tried two softwares (Classic Start Menu and Windows 7 Taskbar Tweaker, both freeware and not without their merit) without any luck.

This feature is so elementary to the way I work that it's a "deal breaker" if not possible on Win 7.

    Can anyone help, please?!

Thanks for taking the time to read this. :)

Except for 'Close Group', I don't see any functions that are not available by simply right clicking an empty space on the task bar. I may be missing something, and I am only looking at things using XP Mode in Windows 7.

Best Wishes and hope you find a new work flow.
