    If there is no CPU activity light then it could be mobo.

    yes, there is no cpu activity. i'm on my last 2 months in this tour of duty then will be home to DIY my laptop. i will update you as soon as possible.

stuck on the "starting windows" screen.... thats as far as it gets. any ideas? tried startup repair. no luck there.... toshiba satellite A665-S5170 wont even boot into safe mode. thanks.
I realised my laptop tends to hang at the Win 7 logo at bootup occasionally. I will have to forceshut it and restart, then it will boot up fine. Any way to determine the issue ? =/
