    windows 7 boot error

I have a HP pavilion p6823w I have the basic windows 7 and I have many problems and I need help.

I bought this computer in september, and I havent downloaded anything except the windows updates and norton antivirus wich my stepdad INSISTED I had.

I didnt do anything different, it was running perfect, and then my computer flickered and restarted, and now it wont go any firther than the blue hp screen.

I have no option for safe mode, F11 system recovery will not open. F9 diagnostics will not open either.

esc boot menu will work and so will F10 setup.

If you wait too long on the blue screen, a black screen shows up and it says Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

I tryed to run a system restore disk and it told me that there are no drivers.

I got a screen a while ago that said that there was a hard drive error. I looked it up and a link somewhere told me to open my computer and disconnect and re-connect my SATA cables and I did and I havent seen that message since, so I dont know if that worked, and I am really hoping for a relatively simple fix. Any ideas?

You still get no further than the blue HP screen?

Try tapping F8 at reboot to enter System Recovery Options, accept any offered Repair, then if WIn7 doesn't start boot back in to run Startup Repair repeatedly. Report back results.

If you cannot enter Repair console at F8, you'll need to make a System Repair Disc - Create to do the Repairs. Boot it by tapping the ESC key at boot. You can also borrow or locate a Win7 installation DVD to boot into its Repair console on second screen.

You may have HD problems. Download the ISO file, burn to CD, boot to run the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan. This can diagnose and repair your HD.

Yes as long as it is the same 32- or 64-bit version. You can check at Computer>Properties.

Alright, I made the disk and it runs but it is saying that I dont have a system image. What do I do now?

Please follow the repair steps I gave earlier which say nothing about Recovering Using a System Image

Do you even have a System image? You would have had to make it in B ackup Center:Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

You want Startup Repair from the Recovery Tools list, after it scans for and hopefully finds the installation to Repair. DOes it? Is there a Repair Offered? If not click through to Tools list to run Startup Repair repeatedly, report back results.

I followed the system repair link in that post that you posted and I made the disk. All that comes up when I run the disk is select a system image back up.
