I do know what you are saying but it also happens when ejecting a cd or DVD. It's weird? Worry something sinister. Or maybe some kind of securom / drm causing an issue. I know, I am over obsessive.

Cheers guys

Anything is possible. As previously mentioned, booting to a Win7 VHD on there to test clean is my suggestion.

Eject of USB key/safely remove worked so little for me that I just changed the setting in Device Manager to hot plug. I use sync.exe from SysInternals to flush the buffers to disk. Then I pull the key drive or shut my USB dock off.

The fact you only get the error once is weird. It's almost like something in the Registry is getting changed after it's all loaded in memory. If you know the Registry location for the right click item I would check the value before and after the first time you try to use it. It might be getting updated somehow.

Also you may be able to use a registry monitor tool from SysInternals to watch that key automatically:

Thanks. Will try the suggestions guys. Would anyone know where in the registry to look? I haven't got a clue where that might reside.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks for the help guys. It was a context menu problem. Using Shell Exview I disabled a securom entry and the problem dissappeared!

I believe I'm having the same problem, O Flippered One. This is my first time here so please forgive any errors in protocol. I close out in 'sleep mode'. When I try to get back in, monitor won't come out of that mode. When I reboot, I get the msg named "photoscreensaver.scr-no disk" that says "There isk no disk in drive. Please insert a disk in drive\Device\Harddisk4\DR4 Along with this problem, I can no longer get into my Hotmail account. I cannot enter my computer without rebooting each time.

I had the same issue on Windows 8 32-bit and it turned out to be that I had added Facebook as a trusted site. After I removed that, I no longer have this error.
