Windows 7 issues I have encountered so far

This is using the Windows 7 Ultimate X64 RTM from MSDN/Technet.

Choppy aero animation when maximizing / closing windows, this was never present in vista and it is extremely annoying in 7, has anyone ever found a fix for this ? I've tried driver version from 182.xx to 190.58 all with the same result.

Folder in use bug, This one is very annoying.. I trying to organize my files drive and often items i get the "Folder in use" error when moving/renaming files or folders I do not have any of the files running/open and this never happened to me in Vista. Another similar report can be found here "Folder in Use" dialog doesn't specify which program is using the folder - Windows 7 Taskforce

Renaming Partitions, So i nuked my C: upon installing 7 and after installation i noticed that all of my drives are now called "Local Disk" renaming C: didnt take any delay but renaming my D and E partitions took several reboots before it updated, this is one silly bug if you ask me.

Odd, I have much lower specs than you and I don't have any choppiness using the latest whql driver from the nvidia site (285 card). I DID have that in the beta, but the RTM seems to be much faster graphics wise (Almost doubled the frame rate in some games from the 7100 too)

Edit: Ack I take that back, it's still there, but only for some programs. Strange...

Folder in use MIGHT be the indexer at work, try turning off search and indexing in the services while doing your major file shifting.

I changed 3 partition drive letters today with the RTM and they all updated instantly. Or were you using the names and no drive letters? I did specifically update my motherboard drivers with nvidias latest from their website though. Not sure if that made any difference.

I've had no choppy Aeroness with my GF9600 GT OC (186.35 drivers)

My only quirk I don't like is Searching folders...there is no Advanced Search Options lke there was in XP.

Not a lot of people can tell the choppyness though.

    I dont have indexer running.

My D and E have contents and drive letters in them.

Im not really sure if this is a driver or windows issue at all, but several machienes ive tested seems to have this problem.

If you click on the search bar, you'll notice "Size" and "Date Modified" options at the bottom of the dropdown that appears. Selecting either one will allow you more options for those. While it may not be quite as comprehensive, it's probably 99% of the scenarios used, and much handier.

As far as folder in use, it is possible the folder is locked by some app or process, especially if you have only one or two partitions.
