Unsure of what is going on, need major help.

I have an ASUS K60ij laptop, and all of the sudden it shut down. i turned it back on and this popped up:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
    3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assisstance.
    Status: 0xc0000034
    Info: An unexpected error occured.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This computer didnt come with any recovery disc, only some disc that says power2go 6.0. I tryed my brothers recovery disc's, but he has an HP. so i inserted the disc, and it says windows is loading files with a bar going across filling up twice. When it finishes, a blue background design pops up and looks like sunlight is shining down from the top of the screen and the mouse goes to a blue circle rotating clockwise like its loading something, then the computer shuts back down, and reloads the whole proccess again. it does this several times then finally displays a message that says:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Windows Boot Manager
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device iss till in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.
If you continue to recieve this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected I/O error has occured.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was no sign of anything wrong with this computer before the incident, not even a virus as far as i was aware of. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I believe Asus uses what is called a recovery partition instead of recovery/restore discs. You should be able to access that menu by hitting F9 at boot!

Please keep us informed on your progress!

I tried pressing f9 and it did nothing ut make a weird clicking sound come out, before showing the first screen error again. i tried it again and i might have accidentaly hit something else and it launched up the BIOS setup Utility

Use Method One. If it does not work you may need to order recovery DVD to use Method Two from Asus.

Did you just install SP1 (or recently install SP1)? There's a KB on this stop error.

An update that prevents a "0xC0000034" error message when you try to install Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is available

Resolving the problem after you get the stop error:

Resolving error 0xc0000034 after installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Before reinstalling/restoring Windows, always troubleshoot the error message.

The F9 button isnt launching that menu, only making that noise. i guess it is not compatible with my model.

I didnt knowingly install it, but it said it could be from an automatic update. that may be the cause. i am downloading it to this computer now, but how would i transfer it to my broken laptop? burn to a CD?

I suspect that your running the HP recovery disc deleted your recovery partition. Do you remember seeing the phrase "destructive recovery"? I believe that's the phrase HP uses...
