I always do clean installs. To me, computers from manufacturers come bloated with useless software.
    +1, especially dell!

the last machine i bought from dell came absolutely stuffed with crapware, free trials and general garbage.

the system tray had nearly a dozen items in it, and the resultant slow boot and amount of pop-up windows and notification balloons would put a new user off computers for life!

OK simple fix... install the crap that your Manufacture adds.
    1. nice program part of OS called UNINSTALL.
    2. WHEN YOU have all the CRUD you do not like Uninstalled.
    3. make your own image. name: My Win7.
    4. install the CRAP you want then make another image.Name My Win7-full.
now cut the images to DVD your choice.
simple and really a fast way to reinstall if you have problems.
PS: My question is If you do not like Pre-installed CRAP from OEM manufactures, why not build your own. laptop or Desktop and install exactly what you want.
Their also are MANY CUSTOM BUILD COMPUTER SHOPS all over the WORLD.
    Read my specs.

I have a 1545 with pretty much the same specs, just a larger HDD and a video card. i can confirm that running Win 7 X64 has no issues at all that are specific to the laptop hardware. any issues i face are ones that others have faced. and are just the software at this point

    hey

If you don't like Windows Vista, you aren't going to like Windows 7. There really isn't all that much of a difference with SP2 vista and Windows 7.

Unless it's the GUI you don't like...

and yes... it´s a new machine.. so.. i realy dont need to reinstall nothing.. (just drivers)

    cya
Sounds like a Noobie to me. don't need to reinstall nothing (just drivers). I guess his version of Win7 has,
    1. email
    2. Antiviris other than Windefender
    3. Firewall other than Win7 FW.
    4. and the list goes on and on.

He bought a laptop that had x86 OS and wants x64 or which ever is better. Now if he does the x64 and has nothing except noobie driver problems and how to set up this and that.... I do hope all you x64 guys are here to walk him thru.
