Packard Bell MD 6020 Enquiry
I bought my daughter the above machine at christmas last year. I got it cheap from ebay but it was completly new. I had to break the seals on all packaging.
To cut a long story short i've had a load of problems, too many to mention. I read all posts on this machine and the M 3700 which is practically the same machine, i think.
After trying most of the fixes around the boards i am still constantly getting BSOD,
I should mention i did get a new hard drive fitted and that went well for a month or so,then the machine got gradually worse till i'm at the unusable stage again.
My question is has anyone ever had the same machine cured and if so what was the cause.
I notice Currys have 20 reconditioned models for sale and there are plenty more outlets selling reconditioned as well. you get the occasional one on ebay for spares or repair too.
The main reason for asking is PB want me to send it to them at a cost of £55 then they will tel me how much it will cost to fix. [probably not cheap].
I don't want to waste any more money but when it was working it was a very good piece of kit.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this post.
A very frustrated parent.
