Yeah, i'll do the clean install. Bought this - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, Full Version, Standard License for PC | eBay

Another question: Can i copy my games in a external Hdd and then copy back to new windows 7 system? Will they work without an installing them?
Buying Windows on Ebay is about a 50-50 shot that you will be in the same situation as now with an illegal OS. If you haven't bought it yet, do yourself a favor and don't. Go to a legit store and buy it.

That's not entirely true, if they are steam games, he can copy his whole steam folder over to the new install. I've done it before myself.
Ahh, ok, can you tell I'm not a gamer?
no big deal, in the case of steam though it's all connected to your account. So long as you have a valid account with them you can just run it from the new install and steam will fix all the missing registry entries and stuff for you.

Do not buy Win7 on eBay. We see too many cases here of consumers who were ripped off. I would cancel it if you still can.

Have you considered becoming a beta tester for new Windows 8? You can download and install it for free, participate in our EightForums where you can become an expert and be offered some great pre-release deals like the free Signature Edition we were awarded for holding Win7 release parties, half price Upgrade versions just before release, etc. It's fun, a veritable gravy train, and perfect for the cash strapped.

Other than that Ubuntu has many free flavors of OS if you like Sanskrit.

That works as I've done it too. But, with Steam you can backup each individual game.

You won't get the windows.old folder if you use Custom install Drive Options to Delete, repartition and/or Format during install.
