Hello there,
I'm having a problem with my temporary folders which is really a pain in the behind.
I do not have access to write in my tamp folder and thus cannot execute any operations that has to store files temporary.
I've looked around the forums and stumbled upon the solution of "taking ownership" (
Take Ownership Shortcut) of the folder, but even this is not doable, as i cannot extract the registry fix from winrar, again because i cannot store files temporarily.
I've tried a system restore and sfc scannow, which two solutions i ran upon in my desperate googling.
when i look at the properties for the folder there's a square in the read-only attribute. I'm told that this is general for all the windows folders, however it seems to cause me a great deal of problems, that i wasn't experiencing a couple of days ago.
Lat but not least (and i'm not sure this is relevant at all), what i suspect caused the change is the installation of an old win98 based game (Cutthroats: terror on the high seas). I played the game flawlessly for a few minutes, then had a CTD and a couple of programs started showing signs of flaws. Since this windows is also asking me for permission to run every program, something I disabled early on for convenience.
I hope you can help me out there.
Kind regards,
Jonas Lint
