If you read the post RED cross icon on local drive D ...... , I have included alienware there in the list, too.

The blue text Win7 orig. IconPack inst X86 by ~Mr-Ragnarok on deviantART is actually a link ... click on it, it will redirect to a download page. Download the pack, install it , and restart.

could u guys notice that icon of d drive is different frm usual......................
Your system is not in trouble. This icon is actually the icon of disconnected network drive. Somehow you have got your imageres.dll file (the file which stores all the system icons; iconpackager is a known guilty); and that is why it is showing the wrong one, alongwith a few of other system icons.

If you apply the trick I posted above, it will be solved then and there ... after a restart.
thx arc...............

Shashi, these programs means Iconpackager, Alienware, Hyperdesk, etc programs which apply patches to the system files incompletely . If you uninstall these without applying the default windows theme, you must get trouble.

In this list you may further add tuneup utilities and similar cleaner apps too. Those ate troublesome for windows 7, too.

The third party iconpack installers are also not free from this risk, but they create a restore point before applying any changes, so you have an extra lifeline there. In this present situation, the pack contains windows default icons, so this risk also does not exist

Yours is x86, as the specs said. If you are using the service pack 1, your build is 7600, and if not, yours is build 7600.

Check it. If your system is SP1, I will send you an alternative fix .
