Upgrading Fro Windows version 7264 to RTM

Hi Guys

I have a copy of windoews 7 RTM and I want to just upgrade from my current version (7264) is it possible or do I need to do a clean install?

When I tried to do it i got a message saying this version of windows is not compatable with your system, your previous version of windows has been restored ???
