Create system repair disk hangs right at the start

I'm trying to make a system repair disk for another computer. When I click "create now" the bar fills up a tiny bit and it says "Preparing files..." Several hours later, the computer's still preparing files and absolutely nothing has happened.
The computer I'm making it for gets to the windows welcome screen and says "Preparing to configure windows... do not turn off your computer." and just restarts at that point. It repeats this process forever.
What's going on? How can I make a system repair disk? Is there an ISO that I can image to make one? - since the computer is just refusing to continue. Any help would be great, thanks in advance

You can use the Windows 7 DVD.

Run SFC -SCANNOW Command on the computer which can't produce the Repair CD.

See if you can boot into System Recovery Options on the Advanced Boot Options menu
by tapping F8 at boot. Run Startup Repair repeatedly. Then try System Restore.

If this fails, you'll need to find a Win7 installation DVD for your version or Repair CD to try repairs, if necessary copy out your files, run Factory Recovery or Clean Reinstall.

Fill in your System Specs so we can help you better.

The only installation DVD I have is 64-bit for my desktop computer. I tried making a recovery disk from that but it wouldn't work with my 32-bit laptop. I tried running startup repair from the laptop but it told me to insert the installation DVD, and none came with the laptop.

I asked for your System Specs for the problem computer. Where are they?

What were the results of running SFC on the computer which won't complete Repair DIsks?

You'd have the disk already if you'd be thorough in your response which is what is required to troubleshoot these things.

Sorry. The specs for the troublesome computer are:

    Intel Atom N450 (I think) 1.6 GHz
    2 GB Ram
    32 GB SSD
    Intel GMA HD Graphics
    Do you need anything else?

I just did sfc /scannow on the computer I tried to make a repair disk on. This came up:

    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Users\orpah>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of th
    em.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

The system file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot.

    C:\Users\orpah>
If you need it, I'll post CBS.log, but it's 9 megabytes and more than 40,000 lines long. I'm now going to restart the computer.

Run SFC again a few more times to see if it will repair System Files. If not consider a Repair Install.

The specs go in the link at bottom left of your post. They still don't provide the OS version so we can link you to it's Installation DVD for repairs and possible reinstall.
