i just also installed 7 64 bit and if i have both that means it is installed right but i have 4gb ramn and it says i only have 3.25 useable why is that in 64bit ? OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Most Likely reason:

You are using onboard graphics solution, ((Such as a AMD760 Chipset with onboard ATi 3200 for example))

The bios will assign a set number of RAM to the graphics chip. Depending on your bios it may be adjustable, as 128,256,512MB or disabled.

The result is 4Gb RAm with less than than useable under 64bit.

If you install a actuall graphics card and Disable onboard, youll have full use of all of your RAm once again.


So, its there, and the system is using it, just dedicating a portion to graphics.

After a looking up your PC, it seems its a 740G chipset running a onboard HD2100 graphics solution. So my post above is why your seeing less than 4GB , and it is completly normal as it is setup atm. Nothing to worry about.... Hope this helps>>

I agree, I too have windows 64bit.
I have GA-MA790GP-UD4H which has Sideport.
I'm running x2 ATI 4850 512 which makes 1GB when Crossfire enabled.

If I have one of the following enabled :-
Disabled (Disables the on board graphics controller.)
UMA (allocates memory for the onboard graphics controller from the System memory.)
Sideport (Allocates memory for the onboard controller from the Sideport memory.)
UMA+Sideport (Allocates memory for the onboard graphics controller from the System memory and Sideport memory.)

I currently have it set to Disabled.
I found this under Advanced BIOS Features. Optins to look at are Internal Graphics Mode, UMA Frame Buffer Size.
Of course, these options will vary from motherboard's make + model + manufacturer.

When I did have it enabled, I had UMA+Sideport. Which reduced my memory down like lordnox69 said.

Yes, you are losing some ram and it shows 3.25GB instead of 4GB, That's still enough for other resources etc. As Whishmaster said "Nothing to worry about".

so i install Microsoft fly simulator and it does appear in (x86) but no link in my games, can i fix that

so why then when i install fly simulator it went to x86 but ther is no link in the games folder

no that did not work it only created a short cut to my desk top; i'm going to try to find this game explorer tool
