    Program files/Program files(x86) HELP

I installed Windows7- 64bit. Can anyone please tell me why there are two Program files on my Windows7?
Program files(normal) and Program files(x86). Should it be like that?

    Thanks.

the software which are designed for 64bit will go into the normal programfiles folder and the other software(most of the softwares) goes to the Program files(x86) folder

Also, you will find some 32 bit apps like IE 8 32 bit in Program Files x 86 folder.

Should I install the Windows7 32bit also or I'm OK as is?

    no, you're ok as is!
Win7 64bit can run both 32 bit and 64 bit software.

Welcome to the Seven Forums SevenEleven and praga.

Drivers are the only problem for x64 and that is getting to be a thing of the past also. If you do have any problems, that's what we're here for.

    Enjoy your stay.

    Program Files (x86)

So, if Win 7 configured my system this way when I installed I should just leave it as is with both the Program files and the Program files(x86) directories

Yes. As was pointed out above, as you install programs in the future, 32 bit programs will automatically be installed in the "program files (x86)" folder and true 64 bit programs will be installed into the "program files" folder. That's the way it's supposed to be.

the programs x86 folder is sadly essential. with todays technology there is really no excuse for 32 bit only programs or for any piece of hardware made in the last 5-7 years to not have 64 bit drivers, however this is far from reality. a lot of the software you use on a daily basis will be 32 bit only.
