    window loses focus

For some reason the "focus" goes away from the page I'm on and my cursor disappears Whether it's in Word on the Internet etc. I can click back on the page and it reappears. The "title" bar lightens up so the focus must be going to another program. It happens no matter what I'm looking at.

Hide mouse while typing is not checked.

    Any ideas?

Possibly this is happening because the app is not responding, however this does not seem likely. Does this problem occur at any specific time, such as mostly when you are typing?
Also, if you are using a touchpad with tap-to-click enabled, you could be simply brushing the pad by accident and clicking to another window.
Finally, some background programs will take "priority" when doing certain tasks, such as a antivirus program, and will cause the window to lose "focus."
    Hope this helps.

Slizz, it seems to happen in any program or browser. I do have numerous programs running in the background but nothing that I have installed lately. The only thing I know to do is to start one by one disabling them and seeing if I can detect the culprit. Any programs you know of that would give me that kind of info.

I don't know anything about "resource manager" or "event viewer" but I'll read up to see if I could glean anything from them or another program if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for the post.

Think I got it...Tivo Notify, Server and or Transfer progies for Tivo Desktop.

Turned the services off all was well, turned them on and cursor disappeared in about a minute.

I had the same problem. In my case it was Apple Mobile Device Service grabbing the focus randomly (and releasing it back also).

I reinstalled iTunes together with Apple Mobilde Device Service and the problem was gone.

Interesting. I have another problem with Apple Mobile devices. No matter what I do it won't auto startup. I have finally setup a keyboard shortcut to "Services" so I can manually "Restart" because I sync my iPad & iPod to my Outlook calendar every morning.

I have re-installed iTunes but no joy.

I very often find (and I'm getting a corresponding message popping up) that
apple sync notifier is not finding libxml2.dll

This has been a notorious problem with me here coming with every itunes-reinstallation and I believe it's Apple not fixing it for months or at least a year now.

I solve it by putting manually that libxml2.dll into the \program files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support.

I tried your fix but no joy. Thought it might not help because I don't get an error message, iTunes just does not recognize my device when I attach them through my USB cable. Oh well, always worth a try. Thanks
