Windows 7: Locked me out of Windows 7 Drive.

Hi -

i accidentally Locked myself out of a drive of my computer.
I am on windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit OS with NTFS File system.

Here is what i did:

Right click the Drive G: >> Properties
Security Tab: >>

I see 4 under Groups and User names.
Authenticated Users
SYSTEM
Administrators (CHETAN\Administrators)
Users (CHETAN\Users)

FYI (Chetan is the name of my computer.)

I clicked the last one... [Users (CHETAN\Users)]
Clicked the Edit button and Selected Deny for All of them.

and there we are... i even myself can't access the drive now.

Even after turning the hidden administrator account... i can't do it.

You could try running a System Restore and scroll down to Option Two, or booting into Safe Mode by repeatedly hitting the F8 key during Bootup and selecting Safe Mode, just chose the normal Safe Mode and if you can get logged in change everything back to Allow All..

If that doesn't work try doing this:

Repair Install

Clean Install Windows 7

I can't do a System Restore it says "No Restore points have been created on your computer's system drive. To create a restore point open system protection"

Is there a tutorial avaliable for safe mode thing.

Start your computer in safe mode

Also if you have the Windows Installation Disk you could enter into Command Prompt and type in this command.

To enter Command Prompt during Bootup: Command Prompt at Startup

"net user user /active:yes"

You may need to change user to users though.

If none of those work type in:

"net user administrator /active:yes"

I disabled my only Administrator account

don't do a system restore!!
Did you only do this on root of G-drive:
Users (CHETAN\Users) - there you saw some empty checkbox and some where check. There you selected deny on all rights? Or did you change the owner as well? or did you change credentials of system and administrators as well?
who's the owner of G:\ (click on advanced on security tab)?

Faceofjoe421 no need for safe mode or recovery environment!! can be done in windows as well!

But if he has locked himself out of his account how can he?

from Command Prompt do:
icacls g:
and post output

=> he can't access G-drive! So his account is still working!
