how to change folders and subfolders attribs(read-only attrib)

    hi
recently I wanted to clean my folder read-only attrib and all of it's subfolders and files. firstable I do it through General tab of Properties dialoug box of the folder and clean read-only checkbox and apply it to all the folders and subfolders. but only files attribs change and folders attribs don't change. then I try these commands in cmd(as admin)
    Code:
    attrib -r [the folder address]
    attrib -r [the folder address] /S /D
but it was not effective too.
please tell me how to clean read-only attrib of may folder and all of it's subfolders.
    thanks for your help:)

Hello Webmaster, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The command in step 3 of Option Two in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below would be able to do this for you. :)

    attrib -r "Full path of folder\*.*" /S /D

    Read-only File and Folder Attribute

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

thanks Brink for you attention and the tutorial.
in fact I wanted to change the folder read-only attrib itself.
but in the tutorial point that:
"In Windows 7 and Vista, folders cannot be set as read-only. Only the files in the folders can be."
