Start up repair problem in Win 7 x64

    Hi
I have a Win 7 ultimate x64 on my Dell Vostro 1510 laptop.
Today I tried to start it but it did not boot.
I inserted my installation disk for start up repair and it said that "It's not for a 64 bit operating system!" but i installed my win 7 from this disk!

    What should I do?

pardon me for my bad language.

Hello vakili, and welcome to the Sevenforums.

What was the cause, to the best of your knowledge, of the computer not being able to start windows?

Try a repair install: Repair Install

Failing that, would you consider a complete reinstall? In other words, do you have files that you really need?

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

What Windows media source are you using?

Is it a retail Windows 7 DVD, a Dell Windows DVD or a recovery disc?

    Thanks for your fast answers.
Windows did not start completely, in comes until this page:

and never goes out. I can not log on into windows
I don't like to a complete reinstall because I have many data on my desktop.
It is a retail Windows 7 DVD that I used for installation and startup repair.

    What can I do now?

    Thanks

Vakili, did you have a restore point created?

In that case, I would try the repair install that Dusty suggested.

    Repair Install

Unlike a clean install, it leaves your applications and personal data intact.

about restore point : I don't think so.
I can not log on into windows to use the "Repair install"
I think it's necessary to log on into windows to do a repair install, isn't it?

Be patient, someone may come around with an idea.

meanwhile, what does your installation DVD say on it? and exactly what does your computer say when you attempt a startup repair? And it does look like a repair install requires an admin log in, so we'll have to skip that.

Yes, it is necessary to log in first.

However, as the computer is hanging at the Windows Starting screen it's quite likely you may have a hardware problem.

Can you also let us know how and where you acquired your Windows 7 DVD?
