Why won't this shortcut pin to the taskbar?

We have a standard desktop that launches a little app, but it won't pin to the task bar when I drag it there. Haven't had that problem with other desktop shortcuts that I also wanted on the task bar because of frequent use. Here's the text string from the desktop shortcut's properties: (edited for company privacy)

"C:\Users\username\Documents\launchpad\Compname Launchpad\Compname.hta"

It doesn't pin because it is just an HTA file and not an actual application executable (EXE).

Hello Okieuser,

If you like, you could enable Quick Launch on the taskbar, and add the shortcut to it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Aha! I knew there had to be a workaround. Thanks!
