Windows 7 annoyances
When i first started up Windows 7, i immediately fell in love with it. I thought, "this is the most beautiful operating system ever. It’s almost perfect".
I couldn’t believe there was already a shortcut for Windows Explorer on the task bar. It was like Microsoft finally acknowledged that people want access to files in folders other than “My Documents”. Amazing!
But then after using Windows Explorer for a while, i began to hate how the folder tree didn’t open to reflect the subfolder in the content view. Manually opening the branches became very tedious very quickly. It took me a week to realize there was an option to synchronize the two. Why isn’t this option on by default? What a terrible design decision.
And then after clicking YES for the hundredth time for administrator permission to move a file from one folder to another - UAC disabled, good riddance. When will UAC get a “do not always be so totally annoying” option?
One more thing. Why does the scroll position in my folder pane unpredictably jump to the top sometimes when i click open a folder? That’s not a feature. That’s a bug. Very Vista-esque, Microsoft.
