You can also generally use WinRAR to expand the contents of an EXE installer file.
Same approach... right-click on the EXE, mouse-over the WinRAR item to get the flyout with further choices, and select one of the several "extract" options on the flyout.
Works perfectly. Just like UN-ZIP, such as if you download a driver
/install file from the HP support site. You don't have to actually RUN the driver/install file to expand it and do the installation. You can just manually expand the installer file with WinRAR.
I would guess that most similar ZIP/Un-ZIP products (free or non-free) would all do the same thing. I just happen to use WinRAR.
