Windows 7 Startup Folder Empty (visible, but empty)

My computer was hit a malware. I was able to clean/quarantine the malware, but my startup folder is empty.

From the Windows logo start, I am able to see the folders in "All Programs". But all the folders are empty. These startup folders are also empty when I navigate to their locations in Window Explorer.

My programs are still installed and I can start them from their installed locations. How do I rebuild the startup folder?

Thanks

P.S. The "AppData" and the "ProgramData" folders are visible. I'd rather not create shortcuts to all my installed programs one at a time

Welcome to the Seven Forums
Navigate to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
AppData Is hidden use this tutorial to see it Hidden Files and Folders - Show or Hide

Then you will need to go to the programs .exe and create a shortcut and put it in the startup folder. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...r-program.html

P.S. The "AppData" and the "ProgramData" folders are visible. I'd rather not create shortcuts to all my installed programs one at a time. Is there a script I can run to search through my installed programs directory and create the shortcuts automatically?

I know nothing about scripts so I don't know.
How many programs did you have in your startup folder?

I also have my startup folder empty.
Alot of computers come like that.
That startup folder is for the programs that start running when you startup your computer (well, some).
