Change Account Type button is not enabled even as administrator user

    Friends,

i have windows 7 x64 in my dell precision notebook.
i have administrator user and tommy user.
tommy user is in admin group. but not able to execute any program but its account type is standard.
then i logged in as administrator and went to UAC there i try to change the account type of tommy user from standard to administrator.....as soon as i click the administrator's radio button. the "change account type" is disabling...its not enabling.
how can i solve this problem?

    thanks

    Welcome to the forum,

If the first two options aren't working for you in this tutorial,

    User Account Type - Change

then you can try the other three and see if that works.

    thanks for your reply.
but my problem is....my other username is already in the administrator group.
but the other user is not able to perform any admin task.
then i logged in as administrator and i checked in the uac account type. its shows as standard user.
what to do? is my administrator user itself corrupted?

Login as administrator and create another new user and make him as administrator by adding him to the administrator group along with users group. Try logging in to that new user and check whether he can perform admin functions. If it is OK, then you can delete any non working user names and profiles.
