    Hello lastbreath

Try this see if that brings the icon back - Icon Cache - Rebuild

If not the icon may be corrupt so try running this - SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Post back and let us know if you get sorted

    Here is the sfcdetails
    2shared - download sfcdetails.txt

I thought maybe a folder in the downloads having this black icon causing the problem so I moved the files to another folder but still !

Do you think coping downloads folder from another windows will solve the problem ?

That looked good, however run sfc /scannow once more or until the result is No File integrity violations found. I don't recommend copying the DL folder from another PC.

As a workaround, direct your downloads to your Desktop, or make a folder on it for downloads. That's how I do it and they are always easy to locate.

    Ok lastbreath

After running the SFC /SCANNOW command until No File integrity violations are found have a look at this see if that will bring it back for you - User Folders - Restore Default Icon
I would also restore the default location whilst we get the icon back - User Folders - Restore Default Location
Have you changed any icons on your system especially in C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll

Britton30 .. Thank you but I prefer my downloads to stay in the downloads folder ( Kinda used to and I'm good with that )
