i can't delete windows xp mode.

    Hello,

I uninstalled my virtual Pc 2007 and windows xp mode from control panel.
but Windows xp mode did stay into C:\Program files\Windows XP Mode

When i want to delete it with Shift + Del it says: "The Action Can't be completed because the file is open in another program, close the file and try again."

When i to Right click on it, and select DELETE, it says: "You need permission to perform this action You require permission from administrators to make changes to this file"

I did uninstall the Windows Virtual PC update, i went in with administrator account, but still can't delete that.

    Please Respond.

    Hello.

    Have you rebooted?

You can also try Revo Uninstaller

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

Download the free version. I use it on machines that have had stubborn programs leave little bits behind.

Just asking. Many times a simple turning it off and back on again fixes issue's and yet very many users don't know this.

Check to see if you have any .vhd folders still present and using the Take Ownership shortcut, delete them. Then the XP Mode folder should allow you to delete it.

Being a home premium user, I dont use XP mode. So I dont have any experience on it. Searched over the net, and got something that may help you : Uninstall Windows XP Mode and Delete VHD Files - Dr. Z's Blog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs
