An online backup was in progress to iDrive. I was also trying to access a Mac drive through MacDrive 8. The MacDrive program stopped running, and then everything seemed to lock. When I rebooted, that's when the trouble started.

I tried running System Restore and two are available. One was just prior to a Critical Update and that was a day before the crash happened. I tried restoring that but it didn't help. I only have one other Restore point from two days ago, but when I try to run it Windows says the file is corrupt.
