ACER Aspire 5349 series will not startup

Hello, I have recently purchased a new laptop for myself and chose the ACER Aspire 5349 series. It functioned properly and without fail for a week and then problems arose. My laptop began to shut off randomly and without warning. This happens if I am on battery or plugged in. To turn it on must remove any sources of electricity (power cord and battery) and then must hold the power button for 30 seconds once I release I must put the power cord back in start up the laptop then add the battery. This has been happening about 90% of the time and very randomly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Some final specs include:
    Windows 7 Home premium 32bit
    2gb DDR3 memory
    Intel 8800 Processor
    320gb HDD
    Intel HD graphics
    6 cell li-ion battery

Yes it has a 3-Year Limited warranty and I was thinking of returning it or getting it fixed but I'm hoping for a home fix so I dont have to pay for the gas :)

I the reason I asked is because it sounds like the motherboard is bad on it, those motherboards are not checp and a whole lot of work to replace.

Have you tried running it without a battery?

You also have a one-year full parts and tech support warranty with Acer so call their tech Support and have them work through the issue with you and possible RMA to replace the unit.

You can also try working through these troubleshooting steps
