Windows Search issue
Hey Guys . Maybe you could help me out on my problem. Problem I am having is . When I try to locate a file ( *.mpg, *.doc(x) ) or any other file in the search box inside the startmenu it won't find anything but if I type " Windows " it locates everything that has to do with the word Windows. I looked in the services.msc to see if Windows Search was started and its not . When I tried to start the service I get this error message " Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local Computer.
Error 1613: This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service.
Then I went to Turn Windows Features ON or OFF. I noticed that Indexing Service was unchecked for some reason. So I checked it and I still couldn't get Windows Search to start.
Note: Windows Search is on Automatic under Startup Type.
PC is running Windows 7 x86 SP1 Ultimate
Thank You at advance.
