My pictures folder turned into a second D drive..
Hey there. I have a new laptop (asus x53u) and am running windows 7 home premium, 64 bit version. Service pack 1. Anyways, fairly new to windows 7, and new to a partitioned disk drive! Currently, all my documents/videos etc were stored on disk C:, the same as my operating system. I was in the process of changing the location of my pictures to drive D:. I did this by going to start, clicking my name, right clicking pictures and clicking properties. I then went to location. (this method worked for some others, such as video) I then clicked "move", then "computer", then "Storage D: - Once D: was opened, this is where i would normally select the duplicate folder i created, in this case "pictures". However I accidentally clicked the "select folder" button, without actually selecting a folder first. :0( So what used to be the folder "pictures" has now turned into "Storage D:" - when I click properties it shows up as my hard drive!! It says "type: local disk, File system: NTFS" - and of course shows the pie-scale. I have tried going back to location and moving it to the duplicate pictures folder i have created for it. When i click apply it asks me if i want to move all the files to the new location. I click yes and then get an error message reading: Cannot redirect parent into descendant. The specified path is invalid. I have also tried clicking "restore default" under the location tab, clicking apply, when asked if i want to move the files to the new location i select yes and get an error message that reads: Failed to build the list of regular subfolders under "D:\MSOCache" Acess is denied. (I am the administrator on this computer).. Thanks so much for your help and expertise i have looked everywhere trying to find a solution!! Best Regards, Brendan
