What is the name of the toolbar under the menu bar? And can it be disabled?
It was introduced in Vista... has buttons like Organize, Burn, New Folder (new to 7 I think).
It's pointless... I use none of those buttons. Can I remove it? | My System Specs |

it's not new to 7. This feature has been around since Windows XP What is the name of the toolbar under the menu bar? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Too many to list. OS XP, Seven, 2008R2 CPU AMD, Intel, VIA Motherboard Various Memory Corsair, Kingston, etc. Graphics Card ATI, NVIDIA Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Keyboard qwerty Hard Drives Maxtor, Western Digital Internet Speed 22 Mb/s @ home, 1 Gb/s @ server Other Info All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality. |

I like changing these settings depending on what's in the folder & with that bar gone so are these settings options. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ABS Tech Ultimate X9 OS Windows® 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (E0) @ 4.0GHz Motherboard ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo / 1780 FSB Memory G.SKILL-F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK (2x2Gbs) (5-5-5-15) @ 1067Mhz Graphics Card EVGA GTX 470 SC (845/1690/2000) 160Gbs Sound Card VIA HD Audio / Boston Acoustics Monitor(s) Displays Acer X222W HD 22" LCD 2500:1 / 5ms Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (Old Style Blue!) I think it should be the same in Windows 7 but I am not using it atm so I can't say for sure. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Too many to list. The bar that says Organize/Views/Share/Burn was never in XP as far as I knew, unless you had to manually turn it on. XP had, from top down:
Menubar: File, edit, view, etc.
Nav bar: Back and forward buttons, etc
Address bar
Now Vista/7 has:
Navbar / Address bar combined
Menubar: Automatically hidden but you can see it by tapping alt
New bar which is huge and obtrusive and not very useful - it's twice as thick as the damn menubar

I like changing these settings depending on what's in the folder & with that bar gone so are these settings options. Some (but probably not all) of those things can be done through the (hidden) normal menubar. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (7600) x64!
